Those are not "stocks." They are mutual funds - which are designed for long-term investing. First, decide what asset allocation you want in your portfolio; THEN select funds that best fit that allocation. The target date funds are designed to be "one stop" investments - if you use one, put 100% into it. A lot of mutual funds have "crappy" three-year returns right now due to the financial crisis. That doesn't necessarily make them "bad" funds.
